UK scientists develop new currency for space travelers

Once a dream, space travel is gradually becoming reality. With this dream coming true one question that strikes our mind is that what currency would be used to travel to a place where metal coins could damage sensitive electrical equipment if left to float free in space and the magnetic strip on cards would be wiped by cosmic radiation?
Well, UK scientists have come up with the answer to this question. They have developed a new currency that inter-planetary travelers can use. Named Quasi Universal Intergalactic Denomination or Quid, this currency is made up of polymer used in non-stick pans and has no sharp edges or chemicals that could hurt space tourists.
Designed for the foreign exchange company Travelex by scientists from the National Space Centre and the University of Leicester Quid can withstand the stresses of space travel. Valued from one to ten, Quid coins come in different sizes and colors (one QUID costing £6.25, 12.5 dollars or 8.68 Euros).
