If you are a fervent traveler then I’m sure you know about the travel sites available to expand your horizons. There are innumerable sites like TripIt, Orbitz, Tripadvisor, Travelocity,
Facebook that help the travelers with trip planning destinations, travel advice that spans discount travel to adventure travel and lots more. Here I’m discussing few travel sites that can be useful for your next trip.
TripIt:
TripIt is a web-based travel organizer that provides all relevant information of different places. It is now going from private to public beta testing. You can book your book travel using the web sites and then forward your confirmation e-mails to TripIt. Its software, aka the Itinerator reads e-mails from more than 70 booking sites and then integrates them into a single master itinerary complete with relevant destination information. Users can also add personal notes, daily plans and links to local attractions. The site’s TripClipper application lets you add items of interest from anywhere on the Web.
Google Maps:
Google Maps recently introduced Mapplets, a new mini-application that lets users layer third-party information directly on any Google Map and then save it in a personal library. Presently, the site offers hundreds of independently developed Mapplets.
GasBuddy.com:
It’s a site that can help users track fuel prices on a particular route.
Orbitz.com:
It allows users to check out pricing and availability at the destination. It has recently added a new feature that adds a travel-savvy twist to social networking and user-generated content. OrbitzTLC Traveler Update lets the users share real-time information about what’s happening at 40 of the busiest airports around the country.
Facebook:
The site offers 135 travel-related applets, although far more are designed to enhance the profiles of its members rather than to facilitate actual travel.
