Determining whether you want a large scale or small scale video production is an important step in marketing your brand. Working this out with Digital District will help ensure that you have the type of video production you want. With that it mind, it will help to look at some of the things you should consider when it comes to deciding on large scale or small scale production.
Obviously, the most important thing to consider when it comes to deciding between large scale video production or small scale is your budget. Large scale video production tends to cost a considerable more amount of money than small scale. You generally need more expensive equipment, higher production costs, and usually more time to shoot with large scale productions, all of which can add up in terms of expenses. However, if you have the budget for a large scale production, it may very well be worth the risk. On the other hand, if you do not have such a budget, you should go with small scale. If you're working with a very limited budget, even small scale production can be expensive. And you also need to factor in going over budget. While going over budget is something you would generally want to avoid, you have to consider the fact that it may happen. Going over budget with large scale will likely be far more expensive than going over budget with small scale, and could leave you in a lot of financial trouble even if you originally had a large budget in the first place. If going over budget on a small scale production would be hard on your finances, you shouldn't even consider going with a large scale production.
Time is another factor to consider. If you are working with a tight deadline, you might have to go with small scale production. Large scale production can take up a lot of time, as it usually requires transporting and setting up more equipment, plus usually requires more time to set up shots. On the other hand, if you are not working with a tight deadline, or you are working with a flexible deadline, you might consider large scale production. Despite the extra time it would take, the results would likely be better than small scale production. The extra time would give you the ability to set up better shots, to transport and setup better equipment, and a lot of other stuff that you could not do with a small scale production. Of course, even with longer or flexible deadlines, you would still have to manage your time well with a large scale production, so always keep that in mind if you decide to go large scale.
Location is also another factor in terms of large scale versus small scale. If you are filming exclusively on an interior set, then small scale production might be the wiser choice. But if you want to travel to different areas of Thailand to film your marketing video production, then large scale production might be more appropriate. Provided, of course, that you have the budget to transport all your equipment around.
