Women - only hotel floor at Plaza Hotel at Minnesota

Recently an exclusive floor for women only was introduced at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota. The concept has received mixed reaction from people. h
There has been a lot of discussion that setting aside a floor and a lounge for women only is discrimination or a good business idea. Some people are of the opinion that this is discrimination and against the viewpoint of equal rights for both sexes. Other people think that this is the hospitality business and a way of serving customers.
Most women love the concept!
Females love the concept as they get a women-only lounge where they can enjoy a drink without worrying about men hitting on them. They love the security features of the floor. For few extra dollars a night, they get such amenities as special hair dryers, flowers, chocolates and toiletries.
Not good all the way...
One of the negatives about the concept is that this might be yet another way for women to be left out of the loop while on a business trip. Further this concept might pave way for customers asking for a whites-only or Blacks-only floor.
Earlier Marriott hotel in Grand Rapids, Mich was planning to reserve their 19th floor exclusively for women. However, now the idea has been scrapped and both men and women will be allowed to rent rooms on what originally was planned as a women-only floor. The floor’s lounge that was to be only for women also will be open to male guests. Still, both the rooms and the lounge still will feature amenities designed to appeal particularly to female business travelers, such as chenille throw blankets, ionic hair dryers, jewelry holders and special bath products.
