Ever had to stand in a long queue and wait for the unannounced delay of your flight? May be the people standing at the front of the queue knew about the flight delay long hours back but that definitely that didn’t help you. Next time it’s surely going to help you. There is ongoing customer service misery at airports. Seeing the opportunity, online travel site Orbitz has recently launched a beta version of Traveler Update, OrbitzTLC Traveler Update to provide travelers more information and control of their travel plans.
In addition to existing tools that send customers cell phone and PDA alerts about flight delays, a web site where travelers post up-to-date information about security line waits, parking, curbside service availability, car traffic near the airport and where to pick up airport Wi-Fi has also been unveiled.
Traveler Update will not only provide valuable information for travelers, but will give airports, airlines and other travel services a chance to hear what travelers are saying about their products and services. Many updates are pointless but could be useful when trying to navigate an airport during bad weather or other systemic delays.
