The Canadian province of Quebec is getting ready for greatest party ever. It is getting ready to celebrate it’s 400th anniversary. To celebrate this anniversary, the city will have a year long party geared more towards tourists than locals.
The party will kick off on ‘08 New Year’s eve. It will probably stretch for about 10 months. I think this is the longest party I have ever heard of. The celebrations will definitely put the French speaking Canadian province on the spot.
As a matter of fact, authorities involved in this celebration feel that this would attract plenty of American tourists.
The Quebec people are disappointed at the fact that the Americans take their neighbors for granted. People in the US always put off their Canadian vacation towards the very end. Hopefully, the 400 year celebrations will attract a pretty big crowd.
The ‘over-the-top’ activities will continue for almost a year finally ending in Cirque du Soleil-produced extravaganza in October of 2008. Quebec was officially founded on July 3, 1608.
There will be operas, acrobats and musicians participating to make this celebration a success. Planning began a few years back.
As a part of the celebrations, there will also be river tours. For some Americans, visiting the French province will be an adventure of a lifetime. For others it will be quite a vacation. This makes me feel like being in Quebec right now. It is sure to be a lot of fun.
