If you are a travel freak and astronomy fascinates you, China or South Pacific should definitely be on your travel destination in July 2009 for you are about to witness the most spectacular Total Solar Eclipse at that moment.
While eclipses occur every eighteen months, however, the time they last vary from a few seconds to about seven minutes. Most eclipses occur in hard-to-view places such as over the sea or in areas where weather plays its tantrums robbing the viewers off the splendid view they have been waiting for days.
The total solar eclipse that is expected to occur on July 22, 2009 promises the travelers a spell bound ‘five minute’ rendezvous with the dramatic display of the celestial world with a perfect ‘astronomical view point’ and no weather hindrances. These tours are often accompanied by an astronomer who’ll chip in the details of the eclipse as it occurs. The prices start from $3,890 which of course, includes a visit to other tourist attractions of the places.
If you are wondered whether people really traveled thousands of miles just for a ‘5 minute’ view of the eclipse, then ask tour companies that offer such travel deals. Sirius, a company that specializes in ‘eclipse’ tours says that its clients from all over the world traveled to Australia in 2002 to get a glimpse of an eclipse that lasted just 29 seconds.
If you thought you could wait till the last minute to make your bookings, then your travel plans might be ‘eclipsed’ as the deals are selling like ‘hot cakes’!
