Holiday in Antarctica

Yes, you read the title right, now one can holiday in the coldest place on the Earth - Antarctica. Long known as the no man’s land, it is now possible to go on a 38 day voyage that starts from Falkland Islands and ends in Australia. The voyage has copter rides, landings in the journey at penguin rookeries, research stations and volcanoes.

The voyage covers the eastern coastline of Antarctica. This voyage is on avail from Dec. 1 to Jan. 7. So, one can even celebrate New Year 2008 in this rare, one of its kind trip.
Antarctica is in the southern hemisphere, thus the time of this trip is during the austral summer when the sun never sets on the ship, the icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov.
The path for the trip goes in the following order starting from Stanley, to Falkland Islands; South George and South Sandwich islands; Weddell Sea and Prydz Bay; Fremantle, ending in Australia.
tourists
The trip costs around $38,400 per person double occupancy while for a single cabin, it’s almost $65,280. This cost is inclusive of on-board accommodations and meals, helicopter flights. However, it does not include transportation to the Falklands or return from Australia. A fair deal I must say!
